| This week is going to be a busy week and an
important week for the Club.
1) Tuesday is the May Monthly meeting at 7:00 pm. (see more below) 2) Wednesday is the BUG meeting at 9:30 am. (see more below) and, for the first time, but not last time... 3) THURSDAY "ORIENTATION" MEETING which we will discuss this Tuesday. (see more below) The Tuesday Monthly Meeting will be mostly a "business" meeting revolving around the club, it's future and it's location. As you are aware, space at the Drugstore is becoming more and more cramped and I really do need to free the last bit of space up to enhance the Drugstore and continue to survive in "my world". This meeting may very well be the last meeting held at the club's current location. We have arranged with the St. Augustine Record to relocate the club's meetings to their conference room "The Center" which is a beautiful room, spacious and comfortable chairs!! There will probably be a "scaling back" of the quantity of meetings for the time being, perhaps to 2 per month and they would be held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday's at "The Center". We can being our meetings at either 6 pm or 7 pm, whichever the club decides on this Tuesday. The Board of Directors recommends that whichever you pick we stay "consistent" and have both meetings begin at the same time and, as currently scheduled, would both last for 2 hours. "The Center" is currently reserved for SAIBMUG on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month and is available from 5 pm to 9 pm if needed. There are no other scheduled meeting at this time for those days at those hours. Our thoughts are that the 1st Thursday meeting could be the usual "Monthly Meeting" with perhaps a SIG type of discussion after a short break following the general presentation. The 2nd meeting (3rd Thursday) would be a combined SIG as yet to be determined. We'll discuss this on Tuesday. Getting back to "The Center". The Record has graciously permitted us to use their facility for free! There is already a projector in place, mounted to the ceiling, as well as a screen which drops down from the ceiling. There is a presentation podium for a speaker to use amplified throughout the room so everyone will be able to hear. There are multiple tables (about 8 I believe) and the room comfortably seats 40 people. Across the hall from The Center is the Snack Area / Kitchen and again we're invited to use that facility if we choose to and there are also vending machines close by. Rest rooms are also available for us in this section of the building. They will also permit us to tap into their DSL Internet access so we can continue to explore the web. The Board of Directors of SAIBMUG respectfully and unanimously requests that you vote in favor of this move. Please consider the other items below that are currently on the agenda so you won't be caught off guard when they are presented: 1) Purchasing a new Laptop to replace our current Desktop computer. 2) Selling our existing monitors and computer with 1st choices going to club members of course. (on this note, bring some cash or your checkbook, you'll never buy a monitor this good this cheap again!) 3) Reducing the number of meetings per month from 4 to 2 (remember, in the "old days" we only had 1 or 2 anyway). 4) Re-examining and relocating the newly formed BUG group somehow to somewhere. (Perhaps before or after our regular meetings as the room becomes available from 5 to 9 pm.) 5) Whatever else we can come up with like all this above isn't enough. :) Lastly, TIME PERMITTING, we'll field any questions you might have but don't count on it, this might take some time to finalize. The BUG group will hold it's last meeting at the Drugstore on Wednesday morning at 9:30 am. After this, as mentioned above, we'll have to figure something out if the BUG group is to survive and I HOPE IT DOES and will work with those members to ensure it's survival.
