SAIBMUG February Meeting

Thursday, February 2, 2006
6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
~ Mr. Watson's IBM ~
Presented by Ray Ettington

Ray Ettington (who is a snow bird from western New York State)
joined IBM in 1953 and retired in 1988 after a 35 year career in sales
and marketing in frive branch offices as well as district, division
and corporate headquarters.

In addition to trying to keep up with current technology,
like his past presentations to our club on Ebay and Search Engines,
Ray has an interest in computer history.

It occured to Ray that since the Watson Homestead, located not far
from his summer home, offers educational courses, the club might
appreciate a presentation about Mr. Watson from someone who worked for him.

This is the origin of this presentation.  Ray offered to do it for us
with the warning that he realizes that most people are interested
in today's and tomorrow's technology, not yesterdays.

But, remembering that all of today's technology does come from
"yesterday" a good history lesson is both timely and important.

Come learn about Mr. Watson and his IBM from a man who knows.

Then it's "Question & Answer" time.

Bring a friend!
